Benylin Cold and Flu Day and Night Capsules. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which aids the reduction of swelling in the nasal passages, helping you to breathe more easily, whilst paracetamol helps bring down fever and reduce aches and pains. The caffeine in the daytime capsules helps combat drowsiness so you can get on with your day. The daytime capsules contain phenylephrine, caffeine and paracetamol to help to relieve your cold & flu symptoms including fatigue and drowsiness, whilst the night time capsules help relieve cold & flu symptoms so you can get a good night’s sleep.
Suitable for adults and children over 12 years. Adults and children 12 years and over; During the day: 2 Red and Yellow day capsules every 4 - 6 hours, up to 3 times a day. At night: 2 Dark Blue and Light Blue night capsules to be taken at night. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 6 day capsules and 2 night capsules in any 24 hour period. Do not take with any other Paracetamol containing products. Each Day Capsule contains: 500mg Paracetamol, 25mg Caffeine and 6.1mg Phenylephrine. Each Night Capsule contains: 500mg Paracetamol and 6.1mg Phenylephrine.

Cough & Cold;

Cough & Cold remedies contain a combination of ingredients which are effective in treating the symptoms associated with colds & flu including relief of aches & pains, sore throats, headache, nasal congestion and high temperature. Some will treat the symptoms of a chesty cough.
Always read the Patient Information Leaflet before taking any medicine. Cough & cold remedies should not be given to children under 12 years.

Paracetamol is an ingredient included in many cold preparations and branded pain killers. Always read the ingredient list of any medication you use - including prescription medication, in case it duplicates your dose; accidental paracetamol poisoning is increasingly common and totally avoidable if used responsibly.
Do not take more than two doses of paracetamol of any type at any one time (2 x 500mg) or more than 8 tablets of any type in 24 hours.

Ibuprofen, always take with food and do not take more than two at any one time (2 x 200mg but just 1 x 400mg) or more than 1200mg in 24 hours.

Ephedrine & Pseudoephedrine, if your product contains it, work to restrict blood vessels, reduce swelling and therefore production of mucous and so reduce congestion. Quantities per sale of these ingredients are strictly controlled by law in this country.

Phenylephrine, if your product contains it, is a decongestant that reduces swelling in nasal passages, reliving sinus pressure and reduces congestion.

Promethazine, if your product contains it, is a sedating antihistamine. It is taken to make you drowsy and will act soon after taking. You must not drive or operate machinery for at least 8 hours after taking.
It should not be taken with any medicines that causes drowsiness as a side effect and many other medicines. Do not drink alcohol whilst taking this medicine.

Guaifenesin, if your product contains it, is an expectorant that is reported to make phlegm less thick, helping you to cough more easily.

	Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, have high blood pressure, severe heart disease, over-active thyroid glands, history of stomach ulcers or are taking any Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOI's) for depression.
